Boudoir photography has come a long way over the past few years. It is no longer associated with just sexual photoshoots, instead, it has become a form of empowerment for women to celebrate their bodies and feel confident in their own skin. As a boudoir photographer, my day-to-day life is always exciting, creative, and unpredictable. In this blog post, I’ll take you behind the scenes and give you an insight into what a typical day in the life of a boudoir photographer looks like.

My day starts early, as I usually have a morning photoshoot scheduled. I spend the first few hours of my day setting up the studio, preparing the equipment, and getting the lighting just right. As I wait for the client to arrive, I take time to go over the shot list, making sure that everything is perfect.

Once the client arrives, we spend time getting to know each other. This is a crucial part of the process, as it enables the client to feel comfortable and relaxed. We often chat about their vision for the photoshoot and how they would like to be portrayed. I make sure to reassure them and remind them that the most important thing is for them to feel beautiful and confident.

During the photoshoot, I play music, set the lighting and help my client find the most flattering poses that showcase their best features. It’s important to create a safe and welcoming environment to make my clients feel comfortable as they are opening themselves up and being vulnerable during the shoot.

After the photoshoot, my job is still not done. I spend several hours editing the photos to bring out the best of the photographs. I often retouch and airbrush to remove any perceived imperfections and to refine the final image. I take pride in highlighting natural beauty and promoting body positivity in the pictures.

At the end of the day, I spend time packing up the equipment, cleaning up the space, and preparing for the next day. I often complete admin tasks: driving to my clients to deliver their photos or meeting clients to discuss future photoshoots.

Being a boudoir photographer is not just about taking pictures. It’s about helping women feel empowered, sexy, and confident in their own skin. I feel honored to be a part of the journey to self-love and it’s a job that I am truly passionate about. Although each day is different, one thing remains the same, the joy and satisfaction of seeing my clients’ reaction when they see their beautiful images.
